YEPP ROADTRIP Jean-Claude Juncker campaign

DAY 4+5 – Slovenia and Croatia

Today we were travelling from Slovenia to Croatia.

On the 4th day of our roadtrip we stopped in beautiful Slovenia (Lubljana and Bled) where we were meeting  after a nice visit of the Bled castle, the head of the list for the european elections of SDS and leader of the Slovenian delegation in the EPP, Milan Zver and Romana Tomc, former vice-president of the Slovenian Parliament and second candidate on the list for the european elections. Also Carmen Mercnik, youth candidate and vice-president of SDM was there to meet us.

This morning, on our 5th day we were travelling from Bled to Zagreb where we met different candidates for the european elections and had the chance to discover the beauty of the city. In the evening we were hosted in Maribor by the two center-right Slovenian parties SDS and NSI. After that event we were now driving to Graz in Austria where we will spend the night and looking forward to an interesting day tomorrow in Graz and Vienna.

It often seems as if the European ,,welfare state’’ was an achievement of the socialist parties. But considering the European political history one can see that it were the christian-democratic parties who were fighting for the different social achievements. In Luxembourg, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy the first social basis were founded by these christian-democratic parties and not the socialist parties.

So the European ,,social model’’ can surely be considered as a christian-democrat achievement !!

In Rome and Bolzano we had the opportunity to talk to the citizens and explain to them the importance to vote for a member party of the EPP in order to have Jean-Claude Juncker as new President of the European Commission, fighting for a better Europe.
